What will be the impact of Google caffeine on US web site promotion?
How will web site marketing be affected by caffeine, a new and improved search engine ? From recent press information, it appears that caffeine is a major revision of the architecture that defines Google’s search engine.
The new changes are set to be implemented step by step, starting in November. It is likely that Search Engine Professionals who closely monitor search engine rankings, will see an observable difference in search engine results once caffeine is fully implemented.
1) It seems as though caffeine charged Google will live up to it’s name. It could be up to twice as fast for basic Internet searches ! That is a remarkable increase in performance. Not that the search engine was a slow poke before, in terms of speed, it’s just that this new version seems as though it will be blazing fast.
2) It appears that real time search will be an important part of caffeine. We will likely see a more spiffy, up to the minute, caffeinated Google. If you want to see the caffeinated and the decaffeinated versions de by side, you can visit: http://www.comparecaffeine.com/search-com.php
3) It seems as though search keywords and title tags are going to be even more critically important than before. As search engines improve, these key indicators should carry more weight.
4) Social Media results may become more visible on Google. This is a potentially huge difference, and a very tough task not only to make the results relevant, but also for webmasters and SEO consultants to incorporate into their efforts.
Personally, I would like to see improved results in Google’s News Search. I have noticed that major headline news is very easy for to display, and they seem to do it quite well. When it comes to “News” as it pertains to long tail keywords, the results fall off dramatically in quality after only the first page of results.
I think that Google should pay more attention to press releases in their News Search, and give them priority in this area. News should not be limited to big business or to headlines, but focused on what is really “new”, regardless of the size of company or the type of news that is being reported.
For smaller niches, what is “news” to them, would never even pass as a blip on the radar of the major media, but nevertheless could be quite significant to their particular industry. This would be beneficial to journalists who cover these niche markets, and have a hard time to find news and information in the general search results for their industries.
No one is quite sure how search engine placement will be affected by caffeine. It has been quite a while since a major modification in Google search has been made, and especially since they have been given their own name like caffeine.
SEO consultants and webmasters can try their best to predict what will happen, because it is always better to be proactive, rather than reactive when it comes to web site promotion, and changes in search.
